TERMS & CONDITIONS

Chargeable Weight

The greater of the dimensional weight or actual gross weight will be considered the chargeable weight.

Rates are subject to change without prior notice and will be updated on our website.


Collection of Parcels

Pickup will be arranged within 48 hours during working days within the Paris area and within 2–3 working days in other areas, subject to availability.

Advance payment is required at the time of parcel collection.

The parcel identification number provided by BCEXPRESS FRANCE must be clearly mentioned on the parcel.

The sender will receive the parcel identification number by SMS and/or email.


Conditions for Accepting Documents & Parcels

  1. A detailed item list, including the value of each item in EUR, must be provided with the shipment.

  2. Customers are advised not to send valuables such as cash, passports or other important personal documents unless specifically accepted by BCEXPRESS FRANCE under an applicable service.

  3. Items must be intended for personal use only, unless otherwise declared and accepted.

  4. Medicines and pharmaceutical products are not accepted unless specifically authorized in advance. BCEXPRESS FRANCE shall not be responsible for any inconvenience, delay, confiscation or loss resulting from undeclared or prohibited medication.

  5. Fragile items will only be accepted if they are properly packed in suitable protective packaging designed for domestic or international transportation. BCEXPRESS FRANCE reserves the right to refuse inadequately packed fragile items.

  6. Parcels may be repackaged using packaging supplied by BCEXPRESS FRANCE where necessary. The customer will be charged based on the total chargeable weight of the shipment, including packaging where applicable.

  7. BCEXPRESS FRANCE will not be responsible for independently verifying or recalculating the customer’s declared item list. The information supplied by the sender may be forwarded to customs authorities and our authorized transportation, customs clearance and delivery partners.

  8. Goods sent for business purposes, resale, or goods exceeding the quantities permitted by destination-country customs regulations may be subject to customs duties, taxes, additional charges, seizure, return or destruction.

  9. It is the sender’s responsibility to check applicable destination-country regulations and obtain any required permits, approvals or pre-authorizations before sending goods.

  10. The permitted quantity of any item must not exceed the limits established by the relevant customs or government authorities.


Delivery Times

The estimated delivery period from France to the recipient’s address in Sri Lanka may vary due to circumstances beyond our control, including:

  • Air traffic disruptions

  • Flight cancellations or schedule changes

  • Vessel schedule changes

  • Customs inspections or detention

  • Government or regulatory controls

  • Incorrect or incomplete addresses

  • Incorrect telephone numbers

  • Recipient unavailable at the time of delivery

  • Delays caused by local delivery companies

  • Force majeure or other unforeseen circumstances

Delivery times are therefore estimates and are not guaranteed.

BCEXPRESS FRANCE shall not be responsible for deterioration of food items or loss resulting from delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.


Prohibited & Restricted Items

BCEXPRESS FRANCE does not accept the following items for transportation:

  • Alcoholic beverages

  • Animal skins from non-domesticated animals

  • Articles of exceptional value, including works of art and antiques

  • Precious stones

  • Gold and silver

  • Dangerous goods or hazardous materials

  • Firearms and weapons

  • Furs

  • Ivory and ivory products

  • Live animals

  • Cash, money and negotiable instruments

  • Perishable goods, unless specifically approved

  • Plants

  • Pornographic materials

  • Seeds

  • Stamps of unusual or exceptional value

  • Stand-alone lithium batteries

  • Tobacco and tobacco products

  • Unaccompanied baggage

  • Any other item prohibited by applicable law or transportation regulations

Additional items may be prohibited or restricted for shipment to Sri Lanka.

The sender is solely responsible for complying with all applicable Sri Lankan government regulations, customs requirements and import restrictions.

Senders and consignees are advised to check the applicable prohibited and restricted-item lists before handing over any parcel.


Right to Refuse or Suspend a Shipment

BCEXPRESS FRANCE reserves the right to refuse, suspend or discontinue the transportation of any shipment where:

  • Complete sender or receiver contact information has not been provided;

  • The contents are not adequately described;

  • The contents are prohibited or restricted;

  • The goods are improperly classified;

  • The goods are inadequately packed or labelled;

  • Required documentation has not been provided;

  • Transportation is not practicable or operationally feasible;

  • The shipment may create a safety risk;

  • The shipment may damage, contaminate or affect other goods or transportation equipment; or

  • Transportation would otherwise be unlawful or economically or operationally impractical.

We will not transport goods that may endanger our employees, agents, subcontractors, transportation equipment or other shipments.


Customs Duties, Taxes & Additional Charges

Not all commodities are permitted to be shipped to Sri Lanka.

Any customs duties, taxes, penalties, storage charges, demurrage, inspection fees or other additional charges imposed by customs authorities or other government agencies shall be payable by the sender and/or consignee, as applicable.

Where applicable, additional charges relating to restricted or specially controlled items may be requested from the sender in France before the shipment is dispatched.

BCEXPRESS FRANCE is not responsible for customs duties, taxes, penalties, storage charges or other government-imposed charges.


Customs Inspection, Retention & Destruction

All shipments may be inspected by customs or other authorized authorities at the origin or destination.

If Sri Lankan Customs or another authorized authority retains, confiscates or destroys part or all of a shipment, any resulting loss or expense shall be borne by the sender and/or consignee, subject to applicable law.

If a parcel is rejected by Sri Lankan Customs and the sender requests that it be returned to France, all applicable return transportation, customs, storage and other charges shall be borne by the sender.

If the parcel cannot legally be returned or the sender does not arrange or pay for its return, the parcel may be destroyed or otherwise disposed of by the relevant authority.


Insurance

Customers may request insurance for eligible goods where an insurance option is available.

Insurance is subject to the applicable insurance provider’s terms, conditions, exclusions and limits.

The customer is responsible for accurately declaring the contents and value of each insured item.

BCEXPRESS FRANCE does not guarantee that every item or shipment is eligible for insurance.


Air Cargo

Regular air cargo shipments are available every week, subject to the applicable flight and transportation schedule.

Estimated transit time is approximately 05 – 10 Working days from departure.

Eligible air cargo parcels may be delivered to the recipient’s home in Sri Lanka free of standard delivery charges, subject to the applicable service conditions.

Certain valuables may be accepted only with prior approval and an additional charge.


Sea Cargo – Standard Boxes

Estimated transit time is approximately 30–45 days from departure.

Standard-size sea cargo boxes may be delivered to the recipient’s home in Sri Lanka free of standard delivery charges, subject to the applicable service conditions and destination coverage.

The maximum weight of a standard sea cargo box is 35 kg, unless otherwise agreed in advance.

Valuable items are not accepted in standard sea cargo boxes.

Sri Lankan Customs may require the consignee to appear in person and provide proof of ownership or other documentation where required.

Customs clearance and final delivery will be handled by BCEXPRESS FRANCE and/or its authorized partners in Sri Lanka, depending on the shipment and applicable service.


Sea Cargo – CBM

Estimated transit time is approximately 30–45 days from departure.

Packages, pallets and boxes shipped under the CBM service will be delivered to the designated Sri Lankan customs-bonded warehouse in Peliyagoda, unless another delivery arrangement has been agreed in advance.

The consignee is responsible for completing the applicable customs clearance and collecting the shipment from the designated location, including payment of any applicable customs duties, taxes, storage, handling or other charges.


Limitation of Liability

BCEXPRESS FRANCE shall not be responsible for shipments that are seized, retained, confiscated, destroyed or otherwise disposed of by customs authorities, government authorities or other legally authorized bodies, where such action is beyond the reasonable control of BCEXPRESS FRANCE.

BCEXPRESS FRANCE shall not be responsible for:

  • Customs duties or taxes;

  • Government penalties or fines;

  • Demurrage or storage charges;

  • Delays caused by customs inspections;

  • Destruction of prohibited or illegal goods;

  • Damage caused by inadequate packaging by the sender;

  • Non-delivery resulting from incorrect or incomplete sender or receiver information;

  • Non-delivery where the recipient is unavailable or cannot be contacted;

  • Delays caused by airlines, shipping lines, customs authorities or other third-party service providers;

  • Consequential or indirect losses arising from transportation delays or shipment problems.

Any liability of BCEXPRESS FRANCE, where applicable, shall be subject to the applicable transportation terms, declared value, insurance coverage, applicable law and the amount paid for the relevant transportation service.

The sender may request available insurance at the point of origin for eligible goods.

For insurance purposes, each item and its value must be accurately declared.


Customs Clearance in Sri Lanka

The sender authorizes BCEXPRESS FRANCE and/or its authorized customs clearance and delivery partners in Sri Lanka to undertake customs-related procedures and arrange delivery or collection of the shipment on behalf of the receiver where required.

If customs or another authorized government department requests an inspection, additional documentation, identification or the personal attendance of the receiver, the receiver is responsible for complying with such requirements and attending the relevant authority where necessary.

The receiver’s National Identity Card (NIC) number or other identification details may be required on the shipment documentation and may be used for customs clearance purposes where legally required.


Damaged or Opened Parcels at Delivery

DO NOT ACCEPT A PARCEL IF THE SEAL IS BROKEN OR THE PACKAGE IS VISIBLY DAMAGED.

The receiver should:

  1. Refuse the parcel where possible;

  2. Take clear photographs of the package and damage;

  3. Notify the delivery representative immediately; and

  4. Contact BCEXPRESS FRANCE as soon as possible.

If a visibly damaged parcel is accepted without being reported at the time of delivery, any subsequent claim may be limited or rejected, subject to the applicable terms and conditions and applicable law.

முத்திரை உடைந்திருந்தாலோ அல்லது பெட்டி வெளிப்படையாக சேதமடைந்திருந்தாலோ, அந்தப் பார்சலை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம்.

  1. முடிந்தால் பார்சலை ஏற்க மறுக்கவும்.

  2. பெட்டி மற்றும் சேதத்தின் தெளிவான புகைப்படங்களை எடுக்கவும்.

  3. விநியோகிக்கும் நபரிடம் உடனடியாகத் தெரிவிக்கவும்.

  4. BCEXPRESS FRANCE-ஐ விரைவாகத் தொடர்புகொள்ளவும்.

சேதமடைந்த பார்சலை விநியோகிக்கும் நேரத்தில் தெரிவிக்காமல் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டால், பின்னர் செய்யப்படும் இழப்பீட்டு கோரிக்கை பொருந்தக்கூடிய விதிமுறைகள் மற்றும் சட்டத்திற்கு உட்பட்டு வரையறுக்கப்படலாம் அல்லது நிராகரிக்கப்படலாம்.

පාර්සලයේ මුද්‍රාව කැඩී තිබේ නම් හෝ පැකේජය පැහැදිලිවම හානි වී තිබේ නම්, එය භාර නොගන්න.

  1. හැකි නම් පාර්සලය භාර ගැනීම ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කරන්න.

  2. පැකේජයේ සහ හානියේ පැහැදිලි ඡායාරූප ලබා ගන්න.

  3. බෙදාහැරීම සිදු කරන පුද්ගලයාට එම අවස්ථාවේදීම දැනුම් දෙන්න.

  4. හැකි ඉක්මනින් BCEXPRESS FRANCE අමතන්න.

හානි වූ පාර්සලයක් බෙදාහැරීමේ අවස්ථාවේදී දැනුම් නොදී භාරගතහොත්, පසුව ඉදිරිපත් කරන වන්දි හෝ අලාභ ඉල්ලීම අදාළ නියමයන් සහ නීති අනුව සීමා කිරීමට හෝ ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කිරීමට හැකිය.


Changes to Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions may be amended or updated from time to time.

The latest version published on the BCEXPRESS FRANCE website shall apply to shipments booked after the effective date of the updated terms, subject to applicable law.


Customer Agreement

By handing over a parcel to BCEXPRESS FRANCE, the sender confirms that:

  • The information provided is accurate and complete;

  • The contents of the parcel have been correctly declared;

  • The shipment does not contain prohibited or undeclared goods;

  • The parcel has been packed appropriately for transportation;

  • The sender accepts the applicable transportation, customs and delivery conditions;

  • The sender understands that customs authorities may inspect the shipment;

  • The sender accepts responsibility for applicable customs duties, taxes, penalties and other charges; and

  • The sender agrees that the applicable terms and conditions of BCEXPRESS FRANCE and its authorized transportation, customs clearance and delivery partners apply to the shipment.

By submitting the shipment, I/We acknowledge and agree that the applicable standard terms and conditions of BCEXPRESS FRANCE and its authorized carriers/agents apply to this shipment and may limit liability to the extent permitted by applicable law.
